Michael Mtirara
Chairman and Non-Executive Director

Michael’s Expertise: Michael excels in managing complex Turnkey Projects in Substations, Overhead Lines, and Reticulation, with a successful track record  in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. His electrical engineering qualifications bolster our legal services  in mining and renewable energy. As Project Manager  for Nxuba Wind Farm and Oysterbay Wind Farm Substation, he’s a vital asset. Moreover, Michael led  a team as Senior Project Engineer in Central and Northern Malawi, overseeing the design, supply,  civil works, installation, and commissioning of substations and power cables, with a total  project value of $13 million, showcasing his prowess  in driving project success.

Robert Botha
CEO

Robert’s Legacy: INMISO’s founding member, Robert, brings 25+ years’ experience in mining legal affairs. His proven track record safeguards and advances multinational interests. He excels in forming high-performing legal teams, managing operations, risk, compliance, commercial mining law, and international arbitration. Holding pivotal positions at Hogan Lovells, Anglo American, Kumba Iron Ore, and Deloitte, Robert’s expertise extends to labor law, community engagement, legal project management, and product development. With qualifications from BCom Law to Advanced Diploma in Labor Law, he’s an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa, and an Anglo American Global Achiever Award recipient for leading a pivotal mining law case.

Johan Deetlefs
CFO

Johan’s Mining Finance Mastery: Johan boasts 27 years  in the industry, demonstrating financial expertise spanning various disciplines and commodities. His role at Kumba Iron Ore Ltd encompassed tax management and business development. Passionate about mining, he champions holistic solutions and emphasizes teamwork and individual potential maximization across cultures. Johan’s accolades include negotiating and implementing Anglo American’s first Exploration Joint Venture in China, earning an Achiever Award for  Kumba Shipping Hong Kong Ltd. His versatile skills  shine in negotiations, strategic planning, operations control, corporate governance, and joint ventures,  with leadership roles at Anglo Platinum and  Kumba subsidiaries.

Grant Nelson
Director: Commercial Mining and IP

Grant’s Mining Legal Mastery: Grant, with over 25 years in mining, specializes in commercial law, intellectual property, and community relations. Key roles at Johannesburg Investment Company Ltd and Anglo American have honed his expertise. He managed the Global Intellectual Policy and Strategy Portfolio  at Anglo American. Grant’s skills include surface  rights, restitution claims, intellectual property, risk management, and litigation. He’s notably developed  a cost-effective, bespoke Mining Rehabilitation Guarantee to meet environmental requirements.  His wealth of experience is a valuable asset  for navigating mining complexities.

Dean Manyengawana

Dean’s Multifaceted Contribution:
Dean enhances our team with training, legal project management, and mine community expertise.  As a former University of Pretoria student involved  in developing a Financial Literacy model, Dean emphasises community development, legal technology, training, and project management.  His multifaceted skills complement INMISO’s multi-disciplinary approach, strengthening our capacity  to deliver innovative solutions.

Melissa Jooste

Distinguished Legal Expertise: Adv. Melissa Jooste,  an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa, boasts  a distinguished track record in commercial, litigation,  mining, and construction law. Her business acumen and extensive network enhance her ability to navigate complex legal landscapes. With astute intellect, she addresses ambiguity and disorder adeptly, exhibiting excellent judgment and advanced risk anticipation. Known for assertive decision-making, discretion,  and unwavering urgency, Adv. Jooste consistently exceeds client expectations. Her resourcefulness  and versatility make her a standout professional  in advisory roles.

Bronwynne Mouton

Bronwynne’s Legal Innovation: Bronwynne  is an innovative and efficient attorney with strong analytical and strategic abilities. With an LLB and Masters Degree in Mercantile Law, she’s an admitted Attorney with Right of Appearance in the High Court  of South Africa. Specializing in corporate governance, contractual law, and commercial matters, she excels  in contract drafting, legal due diligence, feasibility studies, and opinions. Focused on tailored corporate structures and full-service solutions, she gained  years of experience as a senior associate and  now collaborates with INMISO, enhancing its holistic, solution driven approach, setting it apart from traditional legal services providers in efficiency, experience, expertise, and cost-effectiveness.
